Rhineland-Palatinate election notices arrive as postal vote deadline nears
Ahead of Rhineland-Palatinate's State Election on March 22, Deutsche Post Begins Sending Out Voter Notifications
Deutsche Post is currently distributing voter notification letters in preparation for the upcoming state election in Rhineland-Palatinate on March 22, the company announced this week.
The mail processing center on Mainz's Carl-Zeiss-Straße is handling all notifications for the 55 postal code area, which includes every location with a ZIP code beginning with those two digits. The facility is operating at full capacity, with roughly 620,000 items passing through its sorting system. "Once again, we have taken great care to prepare for the processing of these critical mailings," emphasized Patrizia Bellmann, head of the responsible postal branch. "Our staff understand the importance of their work, and our letter logistics for the state elections are fully operational. As always, voters can rely on us."
Key Information for Voters
To ensure smooth delivery, Deutsche Post asks recipients to check that their mailboxes have clearly legible nameplates and that doorbells are in working order. Mailboxes should also be easily accessible. Voters are advised to review their mail carefully, as the notifications can be easy to overlook.
Those unable to vote in person on election day may cast their ballots by mail. According to Deutsche Post, the share of postal voters has been rising for years. The necessary documents can be requested using the return form included with the voter notification. The company recommends applying as early as possible, with March 13 being the final deadline for submissions.
