Road rage assault in Weil am Rhein leaves driver injured as suspect flees
A road rage incident in Weil am Rhein escalated into assault on Thursday, police report.
The altercation occurred around 6:35 p.m. on March 26, 2026, on Mühlenrain Street. A 39-year-old driver had stopped to yield to an e-scooter, apparently frustrating the driver of a Mercedes behind him.
According to authorities, both men pulled over and exited their vehicles. After a brief verbal dispute, the unknown assailant—described as around 30 years old, roughly 6'1" tall, and dressed in dark clothing—punched the 39-year-old in the face twice before fleeing toward the "Zollfreie" area in his gray Mercedes, which bears Swiss license plates.
The victim sustained minor injuries. Police in Weil am Rhein are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant information to come forward.
