Roßhaupten's mayoral election could head to a runoff on March 22
Roßhaupten will hold its mayoral election on March 8, with polls open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The winner must secure over 50 percentage of the vote to avoid a runoff. If no candidate reaches this threshold, a second round will take place on March 22.
In the 2020 local elections, Thomas Pihusch won the mayoral race with 94.5 percentage of the vote. The same year, the Free Voters' Association (FWG) dominated the town council election, receiving 97.6 percentage of ballots.
Preliminary results for Bavaria's 2026 local elections, including Roßhaupten's mayoral race, will be announced on March 8. Official figures will follow once the count is complete.
No official data confirms how many political parties or voter groups have registered for Roßhaupten's 2024 council election. Previous records show two lists in nearby Röfingen, but these do not apply to Roßhaupten's current race.
The election outcome will determine whether Roßhaupten gets a new mayor or a runoff in two weeks. Results will be published as soon as they are verified. Voters will decide the town's leadership for the coming years.
