Royal Television Society CEO Theresa Wise to retire after 13 years
The Royal Television Society (RTS) has announced that its long-serving chief executive, Theresa Wise, will retire in 2026. Wise has led the organization for nearly 13 years. The process to appoint a new CEO has begun.
Wise's departure comes as the RTS approaches its centenary in 2027. During her tenure, she has overseen significant growth in the RTS's education and training activities. She has also strengthened the organization's bursary scheme and expanded its events slate across national and regional centers. Wise will remain in her post until 2025 to ensure a smooth handover to her successor.
The RTS has started the process of finding a new chief executive to lead the organization into its next century. Theresa Wise's retirement in 2026 will mark the end of her nearly 13-year tenure at the helm of the prestigious broadcasting industry body.
