Russia and Saudi Arabia Drop Visa Rules for 90-Day Travel
Russia and Saudi Arabia have signed an agreement to allow visa-free travel between the two countries. Citizens from both nations can now enter without a visa, staying for up to 90 days within a year. The move follows years of discussions and a draft agreement approved in late November 2023.
The Russian government first decided to abolish visa requirements for Saudi travellers in 2021. Before this change, Russian nationals needed a visa—either obtained online or on arrival—to visit Saudi Arabia. The new agreement removes these restrictions entirely.
The agreement removes visa barriers for citizens of both nations. Travellers can now visit for up to 90 days per year using only their passport. The change is expected to boost tourism, business, and cultural exchanges between Russia and Saudi Arabia.
