Russia Launches 3rd National Municipal Award for Local Heroes
Applications for the 3rd National Municipal Award 'Service to the Nation' are now open. The award honours individuals and teams who have made significant contributions to local development and improved citizens’ lives. Organised by the All-Russian Association for the Development of Local Self-Government (VARMSU), the competition is backed by the Russian Presidential Administration.
The competition welcomes nominations from a wide range of participants. Eligible candidates include heads of municipalities, local government staff, municipal deputies, and rural elders. Teams, regional councils, or individuals can submit projects, initiatives, or management solutions for consideration.
The award ceremony will form part of a major national forum dedicated to municipal achievements. Successful nominees will be recognised for their impact on local communities and public service. The event aims to highlight best practices in governance and civic engagement across Russia.
