Russia revives bid to restore Lenin and Stalin peaks after failed tender

A second attempt will be made to launch a tender for rebuilding the Lenin and Stalin peaks in Zavolzhye. The Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation has proposed the new bid, with plans to relaunch it in spring 2025. The move follows an earlier failed attempt to attract interest in the project.

The first round of bidding for the restoration of the two summits saw no companies submitting proposals. Despite this lack of engagement, local authorities have remained committed to the project. Officials have not provided details on why the initial tender failed to draw bidders.

The relaunch of the tender signals ongoing efforts to restore the historic peaks. If successful, the project could see the structures repaired and preserved for future generations. The outcome will depend on whether companies step forward to bid in the upcoming round.
