Russia rolls out digital pension certificates for retirees via Gosuslugi
Residents of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast and other Russian regions can now receive a digital pension certificate when they reach retirement age. The new system, developed by the Russian government and the Ministry of Labour and Social Development, offers a convenient alternative to traditional paper documents.
The digital certificate is issued automatically and appears in the user’s account on the Gosuslugi portal within 10 days of pension approval. No separate application is needed to receive it. Once available, the certificate takes the form of a QR code, which can be used in public transport, pharmacies, and other institutions.
The new digital pension certificate provides a quick and simple way to verify pension status. It does not replace existing paper documents, which remain fully valid. Residents can choose the option that best suits their needs.
