Russian Aviation Sphere Features Prominently by Krasnodar Airport
The long-awaited reopening of the Krasnodar airport has marked a significant milestone in reviving aviation activity in Russia. After a three and a half year hiatus, the airport resumed operations on an ambitious scale, with air communication established with seven Russian cities.
Alexander Polidi, the head of economics, announced the reopening as the most anticipated event of the last three years, echoing the excitement felt by many. The first flights from Krasnodar were sold out with 100% occupancy, despite high airfare prices ranging from 29,000 to 42,000 rubles.
The Krasnodar airport will operate daily from 9:00 to 19:00, with up to five takeoff and landing operations per hour. The increased activity is expected to boost business activity, facilitating private trips, property viewings, visits to the Galitsky Park, and friendly visits.
The demand for hotels in Krasnodar has tripled following the airport's reopening. Currently, Krasnodar is in third place in terms of hotel demand, after Sochi and Sirius. Prices for hotels are expected to rise due to increased demand, with the average cost of accommodation currently standing at 4,000 rubles.
However, despite the high airfare prices and increased demand, there are still restrictions on the capacity of aircraft arrivals and departures. The antimonopoly service has shown interest in the price dynamics of airfare, ensuring fair pricing for passengers.
The reopening of the Krasnodar airport is not just a boost for aviation and tourism but also for the local economy. Alexander Polidi mentioned that the airport's opening will boost business activity, further revitalising the region.
Looking ahead, Alexander Polidi also announced that the new airport building in Krasnodar will open in 2027, promising even more improvements and opportunities for the region. As the Krasnodar airport continues to operate and adapt, it's clear that it will play a crucial role in the future of aviation and tourism in Russia.
