Russian court fines and deports foreigners over visa violations

According to the press service of the Main Directorate of the Russian Interior Ministry for the Nizhny Novgorod region, officers in Arzamas issued administrative protocols against citizens from neighboring countries during the "Migrant Worker" raid.

Two foreign nationals were found to have violated their stay regulations in Russia by remaining in the country after their authorized period expired. A court fined each 2,000 rubles and ordered their deportation.

Two Arzamas residents were held liable for failing to fulfill their obligations under migration registration rules for foreigners. A pensioner and a man had provided housing to migrants but did not extend their stay permits. Each was fined 2,000 rubles.

A foreign car driver transporting workers to their job site was caught carrying three passengers who were in Russia illegally. He was fined 2,000 rubles per passenger, totaling 6,000 rubles.

Another foreign national was found working in a shopping center without a work patent and was fined 2,000 rubles.

Earlier reports indicated that illegal activity had been shut down in Dzerzhinsk, where local residents had fraudulently registered foreign citizens.
