Russian man faces prison for alleged death threats against partner
Police in Russia's Magadan Region have opened a criminal case after a man allegedly threatened to kill his live-in partner. The incident took place in an apartment on Severnaya Street, with authorities acting swiftly to identify the suspect. Between March 13 and 15, officers recorded nearly 300 reports of crimes and detentions across the area.
The case began when a 35-year-old man from Seymchan was accused of making death threats while intoxicated. On March 16, officers from the Srednekanskoye Police Division named him as the suspect in the domestic dispute. Investigators launched proceedings under Part 1, Article 119 of the Russian Criminal Code, which carries a maximum penalty of two years in prison.
During the same period, regional authorities logged 296 reports of incidents and crimes. Police also detained 24 individuals for various offences, though details of those cases remain undisclosed.
The suspect now faces charges for threats of murder. If convicted, he could receive a prison sentence of up to two years. The investigation continues as part of broader law enforcement efforts in the Magadan Region.
