Russian man fined 1.3M rubles after deadly electric scooter collision
A man from Nizhny Novgorod’s Moscow District has been ordered to pay 1.3 million rubles after a fatal electric scooter crash. The incident occurred on 15 March 2023, when an elderly woman was struck while walking along Berezovskaya Street. She later died in hospital from her injuries.
The crash took place as the woman walked on the pavement near Berezovskaya Street. The scooter rider, who was operating an electric mobility device, collided with her, causing severe injuries. Despite medical treatment, she passed away in hospital.
The court’s decision holds the scooter driver financially responsible for the crash. The 1.3 million ruble payment aims to address the losses suffered by the victim’s family. This case highlights the legal consequences of unsafe electric scooter use on public pathways.
