Russian miner fined for faking medical certificate to avoid safety checks

A 46-year-old miner has been fined for using a fake medical certificate to skip a required health check. The court ruled against the man after he attempted to bypass annual workplace safety regulations.

The man worked at an underground mining site in the Magadan region. Like all employees, he was legally required to complete yearly medical examinations. Instead of attending, he obtained a forged certificate.

The court found him guilty under Article 327 of Russia's Criminal Code. His penalty was set at 30,000 rubles. No other cases involving fake documents under the same law were recorded in the region in 2025.

The conviction highlights the consequences of falsifying mandatory workplace documents. Authorities confirmed no further investigations of this kind took place in Magadan last year. The miner's fine remains the sole recorded penalty for such an offence in the area.
