Russian politician pushes for major pension payment hike to aid retirees
Sergei Mironov, leader of the A Just Russia party, has proposed a significant increase in the fixed payment for Russian pensioners. He believes this move would enhance their well-being and bolster public trust in the pension system.
Mironov sent an appeal to Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, suggesting the fixed payment be indexed to 17,815 rubles. This proposal comes after Mironov highlighted that the current fixed payment, introduced to ensure a minimum income for retirees, has not kept pace with citizens' actual needs over time.
Mironov's appeal aims to improve pensioners' lives and strengthen trust in the pension system. The proposed increase, if implemented, would significantly boost the fixed payment, addressing the gap between the current amount and retirees' actual needs.
