Russia’s 2023 holiday calendar reveals multiple three-day weekends ahead

Russia has just concluded its 12-day New Year news, with the next long holiday set for later this month. Official schedules show several extended weekends planned for 2023, giving workers multiple three-day rests in the coming months. The first long weekend of the year will arrive soon, running from February 21 to 23. This break marks Defender of the Fatherland Day. Next, International Women’s Day will bring another three-day pause from March 7 to 9. Russia Day follows in June, offering a rest from the 12th to the 14th. The May holidays will split into two parts: the first from May 1 to 3, and the second from May 9 to 11. Looking further ahead, the next New Year news will start on December 31, 2026. This follows the recent conclusion of the 12-day festive period that just ended. Workers in Russia can expect several three-day breaks in 2023, starting with Defender of the Fatherland Day later this month. The next major holiday period will begin again in late 2026, when the New Year news return.
