Russia’s Box of Courage Brings First Gifts to Young Hospital Patients
Children undergoing long-term treatment at Yekaterinburg’s Children’s Hospital No. 9 have received the first gifts from this year’s Box of Courage campaign. The initiative, organized across Russia, brings toys and school supplies to young patients facing serious illnesses. Local officials and volunteers personally handed over the donations this week.
The gifts were delivered by Mikhail Klimenko, deputy secretary of the regional United Russia branch. He presented the boxes to Mikhail Kalinin and Pavel Salisty, who lead key hospital departments. The campaign runs annually, with support from party members and residents across the region.
The campaign’s first deliveries have reached some of the hospital’s most vulnerable patients. With thousands of surgeries and emergency admissions yearly, the gifts offer small but meaningful support. Organizers plan to expand the initiative to more wards in the coming weeks.
