Russia's Far East Border Crossings to Close Temporarily in November

Several border crossings in Russia's Far East are set to close temporarily this November, affecting both passenger and freight traffic. The closures are part of scheduled maintenance and will not impact all crossings in the region.

From November 1, the Khabarovsk river checkpoint will cease passenger traffic, while the freight traffic will halt from November 6. The Poyarkovo crossing will close completely for both passengers and cargo from November 6. These closures are expected to last until the ice sets in.

During the November holidays marking Unity Day, nearly all border crossings in the Far East will continue to operate as usual. However, some exceptions apply. The Mondy road border crossing in the Republic of Buryatia will be closed from November 1 to 4. The Nizhnelenskoye crossing will also close for passengers and cargo from November 2. The Blagoveshchensk river port has already closed for cargo from November 1.

In Zabaykalsky Krai, the Verkhny Ulykhun and Olochi road border crossings will not operate on November 2, 3, and 4.

Travelers and businesses are advised to plan their journeys accordingly, taking into account these temporary closures. It is important to note that these closures are not related to any newly announced regional holidays in Russia.
