Russia’s Month of Good Deeds unites thousands in nationwide volunteering surge

A nationwide wave of volunteering is underway as Russia’s regions take part in the #WeAreTogether – Month of Good Deeds campaign. Running from November 4 to December 5, the initiative has already seen over 800 events across the country in just two weeks. Organised by Rosmolodezh and Dobro.ru, the campaign leads up to the Fifth International Forum of Civic Engagement in Moscow.

The Nizhny Novgorod region has thrown its support behind the campaign, with local volunteers taking on a range of tasks. They are helping elderly residents, sorting supplies at humanitarian aid warehouses, and even travelling to hospitals in the Kursk region. Meanwhile, the Dobro.ru platform is making it easier for people to get involved, offering ready-made volunteering opportunities across seven key areas.

The Month of Good Deeds has mobilised thousands across Russia, from local volunteers in Nizhny Novgorod to organisers planning large-scale events. The campaign’s impact will be recognised at the upcoming forum in Moscow, where the country’s strongest civic engagement efforts will take centre stage. The final celebration on Volunteer Day will mark the end of a month dedicated to collective action and community support.
