Russia’s Naval Infantry Marks 320 Years with Elite Brigade Celebration
The 155th Separate Guards Kursk Naval Infantry Brigade celebrated the 320th anniversary of Russia’s Naval Infantry in a special ceremony. Anton Voloshko, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Primorsky Krai, attended the main event to honour the servicemembers for their dedication and bravery. The brigade, part of the Pacific Fleet, was the first to receive the elite Guards title during the ongoing special military operation.
The celebration took place at the brigade’s Sailors’ Club, where Voloshko praised the Marines for their resilience, honour, and loyalty. He highlighted their long tradition of heroic service, including the achievements of legendary sniper Vasily Zaitsev, who served in the Pacific Fleet. Among the guests was Konstantin Sidenko, a retired admiral and deputy of the Legislative Assembly.
The anniversary marked a significant moment for the 155th Brigade, reinforcing its reputation as a leading unit within Russia’s Naval Infantry. The awards and commendations presented during the event acknowledged both active-duty personnel and veterans for their ongoing contributions to military service and public life.
