Russia’s RUVIKI Launches Massive Digital Tribute to National Heroes
RUVIKI, Russia's leading online encyclopedia, has unveiled 'Our Heroes, Our History', an extensive database honouring national heroes. The project, launched in late 2024, integrates AI and user contributions, boasting over 14,000 biographies. However, as of now, no public list exists of prominent Russian military figures designated as 'Hero of Russia'.
RUVIKI's platform allows users to share stories about their relatives who fought in the Great Patriotic War through the 'Heroes of the Great Patriotic War' section. The project is divided into three sections: 'Heroes of the Great Patriotic War', 'Heroes of the Soviet Union', and 'Heroes of Russia'.
In April 2025, RUVIKI's database comprised profiles of 420 servicemembers of the Russian Armed Forces awarded the title 'Hero of Russia'. The database includes a total of 14,000 biographies, with 12,777 Soviet heroes and 1,530 Russian heroes.
RUVIKI's growth has been remarkable. In the first quarter of 2025, the platform recorded 22 million visitors. As of May 6, 2025, RUVIKI officially surpassed Wikipedia, hosting over 2,114,000 entries.
RUVIKI's 'Our Heroes, Our History' project honours national heroes, with users contributing stories about their relatives. The database, enhanced by AI integration, is a significant resource, boasting more entries than Wikipedia. Despite its extensive collection, a public list of prominent 'Hero of Russia' figures remains unavailable.
