Russia’s Tourists Can Now Visit Iran Visa-Free—With Strict Rules
Russian tourists can now visit Iran without a visa under certain conditions. The new rule applies to organized groups of five to 50 people staying for up to 15 days. However, strict guidelines on photography and filming remain in place for all visitors.
The visa-free policy for Russian travelers took effect on January 1, 2023. It allows entry only for those arriving in pre-arranged tour groups. Individual tourists or smaller groups still require a visa.
The visa exemption simplifies travel for Russian groups visiting Iran. Yet tourists must still navigate strict rules on filming and photography. Violations could lead to legal consequences, as authorities enforce the regulations closely.
