Russia's Tretyakov Gallery and Pushkin Museum welcome bold new leadership
Russia's Tretyakov Gallery has appointed a new director after Yelena Pronicheva stepped down from her role. Olga Galaktionova, former head of ROSIZO, will now lead the prestigious Moscow institution. Yelena Pronicheva's departure marks the end of her tenure at the Tretyakov Gallery. Her replacement, Olga Galaktionova, brings experience from ROSIZO, where she oversaw major exhibitions. These included Kukryniksy: 100 Years, Filonov: An Artist of Global Flourishing, and The Immortality of Heroism.
Yekaterina Pronicheva, sister of the outgoing director, takes charge at the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts. Before this appointment, she led the Vladimir-Suzdal Museum-Reserve and served as head of the Cultural Heritage Department at the Russian Ministry of Culture.
