Russia’s veterans gather for final district assembly before federal summit
A district-wide assembly for veterans of the special military operation will take place on November 26–27 in Vsevolozhsk and Gatchina. Around 150 participants from 11 regions of Russia’s Northwestern Federal District are set to attend. The main event will focus on sharing best practices and reviewing completed projects among regional associations.
The gathering marks the final district assembly of the year, with a larger federal eventbrite planned for Moscow in December. Organisers expect about 500 participants at that event, following a similar meeting on November 22, 2025, which also drew around 500 attendees.
During the two-day session, officials will visit rehabilitation centres and discuss employment platforms for veterans. High-ranking representatives from the State Duma, St. Petersburg, Leningrad Oblast, and the Russian Presidential Administration are scheduled to attend.
Legislative initiatives aimed at improving support for participants in the special military operation and their families will also be on the agenda. The discussions will cover practical measures to assist those involved in the operation and their relatives.
The assembly will wrap up a series of regional events held throughout the year. Its outcomes may shape future policies for veterans and their families. The final federal event near me in December will build on the decisions made during this main event.
