Russia’s Wishing Tree campaign launches to brighten holidays for needy families
The annual Wishing Tree charity campaign has officially begun across Russia, including in the Republic of Komi. This year’s launch was announced at a press conference in Moscow by Arthur Orlov, Chairman of the Board of the Movement of the Firsts. The initiative invites residents to take part in creating festive joy for children and families in need.
In the Republic of Komi, the project’s rollout was discussed at the Public Reception Office of the Head of the Republic in Syktyvkar. Andrei Beznosikov, Chairman of the Regional Council of the Movement’s Komi branch, outlined how the campaign will work locally. Last year, around 300 children from all municipalities in Komi received gifts through the initiative.
The Wishing Tree continues to grow, offering residents of Komi and beyond a direct way to bring holiday cheer to those in need. With streamlined rules, new initiatives, and digital tools, the campaign aims to reach even more children and families this year. Organisers expect increased involvement as the season progresses.
