Russia’s youth honor WWII’s 80th anniversary through education and remembrance

Russia has marked 2025 as a year of remembrance, honouring the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and celebrating Defender of the Fatherland Day. The Ocean All-Russian Children’s Center led a series of events and educational programs, bringing together thousands of young participants from across the country. Activities ranged from patriotic concerts to hands-on workshops designed to teach history and inspire civic pride.

The center’s programs included the 'Happy May' initiative, which welcomed 859 students. They took part in courses like 'We Remember! We Are Proud!' and creative workshops such as 'Star of Victory' and 'Victory in the Hearts of Generations'. These sessions aimed to deepen understanding of the war’s legacy through interactive learning.

The events in 2025 brought together schoolchildren, cadets, and the wider public to reflect on history and national service. Through concerts, workshops, and memorial projects, the Ocean All-Russian Children’s Center ensured that younger generations engaged with the past in meaningful ways. The year’s initiatives highlighted both remembrance and the values tied to defending the country.
