Salt Bae stands firm in Dubai amid Middle East tensions

Celebrity chef Nusret Gökçe, widely known as 'Salt Bae', has reaffirmed his commitment to Dubai and the Gulf region despite rising tensions in the Middle East. The high-profile restaurateur visited Dubai recently to support his staff and stress that business continues as usual.

Gökçe first gained global fame in 2017 after a video of his distinctive meat-carving technique went viral. His career began as a butcher's apprentice in Turkey before he opened his first steakhouse, Nusr-Et, in Istanbul in 2010. Since then, his luxury brand has expanded to major cities, including New York, Miami, London, and Abu Dhabi.

The chef's latest visit to Dubai aimed to show confidence in the region's stability. He confirmed that all five of his Gulf restaurants—two in Dubai, along with locations in Riyadh, Jeddah, and Doha—will remain fully operational. Gökçe also highlighted Dubai's strategic importance to his brand, assuring guests that service would continue without disruption. Other hospitality operators in Dubai have echoed similar messages, emphasising that tourism and daily operations are unaffected by regional political uncertainties.

Gökçe's decision to keep his restaurants open aligns with broader efforts in the UAE to project stability. His ongoing investment in the Gulf region signals confidence in its long-term prospects for business and tourism.
