Salzgitter invests millions to modernize outdoor school facilities citywide
Salzgitter has committed to upgrading outdoor school facilities across the city. Several projects are already complete, underway, or planned for the coming years. Funding for all measures has been secured, ensuring no delays in improvements.
Recent upgrades include the €1.3 million renovation of sports facilities at the secondary school in Salzgitter-Bad. Meanwhile, work is progressing at Nord Primary School, Salzgitter-Lichtenberg Primary School, and Wiesenstraße School in Salzgitter-Bad. Budgets for these redesigns range from €750,000 to €1.5 million.
The city also maintains a schedule for smaller but essential updates. Playground equipment on other school grounds is replaced annually, with a budget of around €10,000. Looking ahead, Klunkau secondary school in Lebenstedt will receive €500,000 in renovations starting in 2026. Regular upkeep remains a priority. Officials have stressed the importance of ongoing maintenance for all outdoor school areas and buildings to ensure long-term usability.
The investments cover major renovations, new constructions, and routine maintenance. Schools across Salzgitter will see improved outdoor spaces in the next few years. With funding already in place, the projects will proceed without financial obstacles.
