Mayor Vilma Balle Caluag of San Fernando has formed the 'Task Force on Water Service Compliance' to scrutinise PrimeWater Infrastructure Corporation (PWIC). The task force will assess PWIC's response to a show cause order and may recommend administrative actions based on water service complaints.
The task force, whose members have not been publicly revealed, will conduct hearings, conferences, and on-site inspections. It comprises city officials, department heads, representatives from the Multi-Sectoral Governance Council, and the City of San Fernando Water District. The group will review PWIC's response to the show cause order and may impose administrative penalties based on their findings.
PWIC, a private water utility provider, has faced criticism over its water service quality and reliability. The task force's investigation aims to ensure PWIC adheres to its contractual obligations and relevant regulations.
The Task Force on Water Service Compliance will thoroughly examine PWIC's operations and response to the show cause order. Its findings may result in administrative actions, ensuring PWIC upholds its contractual commitments and provides satisfactory water services to San Fernando residents.
