Satair and Cebu Pacific have agreed on a long-term deal for material support services
In a significant move for the aviation industry, Satair, a subsidiary of Airbus, has formed a long-term strategic alliance with the Philippine low-cost carrier, Cebu Pacific. The partnership was announced at the MRO Asia Pacific event hosted by Aviation Week in 2025, and is set to officially begin in the same year.
The partnership involves Satair's Integrated Material Services (IMS) solution being implemented for Cebu Pacific's entire operational fleet. This solution will provide complete expendable material management and supply chain oversight, aiming to ensure optimal material availability and operational efficiency for Cebu Pacific.
Cebu Pacific, with a growing fleet of over 100 aircraft, including Airbus A320 family aircraft and the widebody A330 series, will entrust its material supply chain operations to Satair's expertise. A dedicated Satair team will work directly at Cebu Pacific's facilities to oversee the IMS solution.
The arrangement includes rigorous performance metrics and service level agreements, ensuring a high standard of service delivery. The IMS solution is expected to have a significant impact on Cebu Pacific's total cost of material supply chain.
Shevantha Weerasekera, Vice President of Engineering and Fleet Management at Cebu Pacific, expressed confidence about the positive impact of the IMS solution on operational efficiency and cost reduction. Tommy Hughes, Chief Commercial Officer of Satair, also expressed pleasure about the IMS agreement with Cebu Pacific, reflecting a strong partnership being built between the two entities.
The partnership aims to give Cebu Pacific's teams the confidence and flexibility to focus on maintaining operational efficiency, rather than managing the intricacies of the material supply chain. Cebu Pacific's focus, as always, remains on flying every Juan, a common Filipino term for a person.
The IMS solution, meticulously tailored and customized through collaboration with Cebu Pacific's operational teams, is expected to play a crucial role in Cebu Pacific's growth and success in the future. The commitment represents a significant strategic partnership between Satair and Cebu Pacific, marking a new chapter in the aviation industry.
