Saudi Arabia's Low-Cost Carrier flyadeal Expands with A330neo Order

Saudi Arabia's low-cost airline, flyadeal, has taken a significant step forward in its growth and modernization strategy with the announcement of a long-haul aircraft order for ten A330neo planes. This decision comes as part of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, aiming to connect 250 destinations and transport over 330 million passengers and 150 million tourists by 2030.

The order for the A330neo is a logical extension of flyadeal's existing fleet, which currently consists of 37 Airbus A320 aircraft. The parent company, Saudia, also operates 93 aircraft of the A320 and A330 families.

The A330neo is a long-haul aircraft from the latest generation, with a range of 13,300 kilometers. It is one of Airbus' most successful widebody programs, with over 1,800 orders worldwide. The aircraft will be added to flyadeal's fleet to strengthen its operations and enable it to expand its network, which has so far focused on medium-haul routes.

The A330neo is compatible with up to 50 percent sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and can be operated entirely with SAF by 2030. This eco-friendly feature aligns with flyadeal's commitment to reducing its environmental impact. The aircraft is also powered by modern Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines, promoting high fuel efficiency and reduced environmental impact.

The A330neo's cabin features the award-winning Airspace design, offering ample space, larger overhead bins, a new lighting concept, and state-of-the-art in-flight entertainment. This will help raise comfort standards and strengthen flyadeal's position in international competition.

Dominik Lelle, a member of the online editorial team at AERO INTERNATIONAL since 2023, shares flyadeal's passion for innovation and growth. Outside the editorial office, Lelle is a passionate traveler and always looks forward to discovering new horizons. The contract for the A330neo planes was signed at Airbus' Toulouse site. This decision is part of Saudia Group's ambitious growth and modernization strategy, which also includes an order for 54 A321neo for flyadeal, totalling 105 aircraft from Airbus.

While no specific companies or institutions have been publicly reported to have supported or been involved in flyadeal's order of the A330neo, this move is expected to contribute significantly to Saudi Arabia's aviation industry and its Vision 2030 goals.
