Saxony-Anhalt Art Foundation Supports 75 Projects This Year - Saxony-Anhalt Arts Foundation unveils €681K in grants and bold new projects for 2025

The Saxony-Anhalt Arts Foundation has announced its latest funding initiatives for 2024 and beyond. Nearly €681,204 was distributed to artists and projects this year, with plans for new programmes and exhibitions in the coming years. The foundation continues to expand its support across fine arts, applied arts, and performing disciplines.

In 2024, the foundation backed 75 grants for 2025, ensuring ongoing support for creatives in the region. One of its key projects, Glühende Horizonte, launched an art trail in Allstedt, featuring works by 13 regional artists. The initiative was deliberately placed in a rural setting to bring art closer to local communities. It also secured nearly €1 million in external funding, boosting its impact.

A new residency at Rome’s Casa di Goethe will be introduced in 2025, marking the foundation’s first collaboration with the historic site. Meanwhile, the Heimatstipendium programme will enter its next phase in 2026, with six artists—including writer Simone Trieder—working across nine museums and one library. Their projects will draw inspiration from museum collections, with work officially beginning in April 2026 after a launch event on March 11.

The foundation is also preparing a 2025 exhibition dedicated to textile designer Benita Koch-Otte. This will coincide with the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus’s relocation to Dessau, highlighting the region’s artistic heritage. With around 700 grant recipients in its database, the foundation remains a key supporter of Saxony-Anhalt’s cultural scene.

The Saxony-Anhalt Arts Foundation’s funding reaches across disciplines, from visual arts to performance. Its upcoming residency in Rome and the Heimatstipendium programme will provide further opportunities for artists. The 2025 exhibition and ongoing projects ensure continued engagement with both local and international audiences.
