Saxony's State Ministry of Education has appointed Natalija Bock as the new Anti-Discrimination and Bullying Commissioner for Schools, effective November 1, 2025. Bock, a Ukrainian native who has lived in Saxony for 28 years, succeeds Patrick Schreiber in the role. The appointment was made by Conrad Clemens, a member of the CDU (Christian Democratic Union).

Bock brings a wealth of experience to the position, having co-founded the Ukrainian Coordination Center and the Ukrainian House Dresden. She currently chairs the Integration and Foreigners’ Advisory Council. The ombudsman’s office, established in 2022, has handled around 100 cases since its creation. In her new role, Bock will head the office within the State Ministry of Education. Students, parents, teachers, and school administrators can turn to her for cases of discrimination or bullying. An annual report on complaints received will be published going forward, ensuring transparency and accountability.

Natalija Bock's appointment signals Saxony's commitment to creating safe and inclusive learning environments. With her extensive background in integration and advocacy, she is well-positioned to support those affected by discrimination and bullying in schools. The annual report will provide valuable insights into the prevalence and nature of these issues, helping to inform future policy and prevention efforts.
