Regional Authority Halts Work on Repentance and Thanksgiving Day - Saxony cracks down on illegal work during 2025 public holiday
Authorities in Saxony have halted work at several construction sites and retail businesses for breaking public holiday labor day 2025 laws. Inspectors carried out checks on the Day of Repentance and Prayer, uncovering violations at multiple locations. Six construction sites and two shops were forced to stop operations due to invalid permits.
The Saxony State Directorate monitored 16 construction sites during the public holiday. At six of these, ten companies employing 59 workers were found operating without proper exemptions. Two retail businesses were also shut down for the same reason.
The crackdown highlights the importance of following labor day 2024 laws on public holidays. Businesses without valid permits face immediate shutdowns during inspections. Authorities will continue enforcing these regulations to protect workers' rest periods.
