Saxony Eases Access to Social Housing - Saxony Raises Income Limits for Social Housing in 2026
Income limits for social housing vouchers in Saxony will go up in January 2026. The changes aim to help more households qualify for subsidised housing. Single-person households will now see a higher threshold, along with families of different sizes.
The annual gross income limit for a single-person household will rise from €16,800 to €20,520. For two people, the threshold will increase from €25,200 to €30,780. Each extra household member will add €7,011 to the limit, with an additional €855 per child.
The updated income thresholds take effect in early 2026. More households in Saxony will now meet the criteria for social housing support. Officials expect the changes to ease pressure on low- and middle-income families.
