Economic Minister Panter travels to France - Saxony strengthens economic ties with France amid record export growth

Saxony is bolstering its trade ties with France, one of its key export partners. A business delegation will visit the country from Monday to Friday to delve into more opportunities. The focus will be on strategic sectors like microelectronics, life sciences, and renewable energy.

In 2024, Saxony shipped goods worth €2.7 billion to France—the highest total in over 15 years. Top exports included automotive parts, machinery, electrical engineering goods, aircraft, and plastics. France ranked as Saxony's sixth-largest export destination that year.

Trade has surged in 2025. Exports in the first three quarters climbed by 13% compared to the same period in 2024. The upcoming delegation aims to capitalize on this momentum, targeting industries where both regions have strong potential.

The visit underscores the enduring cooperation between Saxony and France. While specific details on the number of Saxon exporters or sector-specific performance are not available, the overall trend indicates steady growth.

The delegation's trip emphasizes Saxony's commitment to fortifying economic ties with France. With exports already increasing in 2025, further collaboration in technology and sustainability could fuel future growth. The visit may spark new partnerships in high-demand industries.
