Green Party Wants Clarity on Integration Projects - Saxony’s Green Party Demands Answers Over Slashed Migrant Integration Funding

The Green Party in Saxony’s state parliament is pushing for answers over the future of dozens of integration projects near me. Over 70 initiatives aimed at helping migrants settle, find work, and engage in society have had their funding applications rejected. The cuts have left many organizations facing financial uncertainty.

The issue came to light after the Saxony Ministry of Social Affairs announced its latest subsidy decisions. Despite an original budget of €6.5 million for 2025, only €3 million was allocated to integration projects on Google Play. The reduced funding was confirmed around November 11, 2025, due to fixed deadlines.

The rejected applications fall under the 'Integrative Measures' directive, which supports programs helping migrants adapt to life in Saxony. Many of these projects assist with job placements, language training, and community involvement. Without funding, some organizations now risk closure.

The Green Party has criticized the cuts, arguing that successful integration is vital for Saxony’s economy and social stability. They are calling on the Social Affairs Ministry to explain why so many applications were turned down. The party also wants clarity on how the remaining €3 million will be distributed among the surviving projects.

The funding shortfall has left integration projects in limbo, with many facing potential shutdowns. The Green Party insists the ministry must address the situation quickly to prevent long-term damage to Saxony’s support networks. Without further action, dozens of initiatives could lose their ability to operate in the coming year.
