Scalable Capital surprises with high daily savings interest rates - Scalable Capital rolls out 2.5% savings account with instant access

Scalable Capital has launched a new easy-access savings account with a 2.5% interest rate. The offer is open to all customers immediately, with no minimum deposit and full flexibility to withdraw funds at any time. This move comes as many savers express frustration over low returns from traditional banks.

The new account replaces Scalable's previous 2% return on uninvested customer balances. Existing customers will continue earning interest on their current settlement account until March 31, 2026. After that date, they must transfer funds to the new savings account to benefit from the updated terms.

Interest is paid monthly, and the rate remains variable, meaning it can change over time. Unlike some temporary promotions, Scalable's offer is not fixed for a limited period. The company also spreads customer deposits across its own bank and multiple partner banks, providing deposit protection of up to €500,000 under statutory schemes. The new rate significantly outpaces competitors like Trade Republic, which currently offers 2% on uninvested cash. Traditional German banks, in contrast, have historically provided much lower returns. In 2023, the average interest rate for instant-access accounts at conventional banks was around 0.65%, with only brief peaks, such as ING's 3% in early 2023. Current rates from banks like Sparkasse (1.23%) and Hanseatic Bank (1.66%) still fall well below Scalable's latest offer.

The new savings account gives customers a higher return than many alternatives in the market. Funds remain fully accessible, and the account is available to both new and existing users. Scalable's move reflects a growing trend of neobrokers offering more competitive rates than traditional financial institutions.
