Schlossstadion's major renovation kicks off with concrete repairs in 2026
Renovation work at Schlossstadion in Grevenbroich will officially begin on Monday, March 30, 2026. Preparations on-site are set to start in the coming days, following months of detailed planning and public tendering. The project's first phase will focus on concrete repairs and corrosion protection. A specialist firm has been hired to handle this stage, with work prioritised at the rear of the stand and upper seating areas. To avoid delays, the construction schedule has been carefully organised so that different renovation tasks do not overlap.
Planning for the upgrade has been thorough. Over the winter, structural assessments were completed, and a public tendering process took place. All involved departments and planners have maintained close coordination to ensure smooth progress. Earlier work, starting in spring 2024, included demolishing the old stands, building new main and opposite tribunes, and setting up a temporary pitch. That phase lasted 12 months, laying the groundwork for the current renovations.
The upcoming renovations will bring significant improvements to Schlossstadion. Concrete repairs and corrosion protection will extend the structure's lifespan, while careful scheduling aims to keep disruptions to a minimum. The project marks a key step in modernising the venue for future use.
