Screwdriver Attack in Nuremberg Leaves Father and Son Shaken
A violent assault took place in Nuremberg’s Bleiweiß district on Tuesday afternoon. A 26-year-old Syrian man allegedly attacked a pedestrian with a screwdriver before fleeing the scene. The victim, a 32-year-old Croatian father, was walking with his seven-year-old son when the incident occurred.
The attack happened at around 3:30 p.m. along Grenzstraße. The driver of a Ford Focus reportedly sped past the man and his child before stopping abruptly. He then exited the vehicle, shoved the pedestrian, and struck him with a screwdriver.
The pedestrian and his son were not seriously injured in the attack. The suspect is now in custody while police continue their enquiries. No further details about the motive or the victim’s condition have been released.
