Search for JSU's Next President Underway, Led by AGB Search
The Institutions of Higher Learning (IHL) is currently seeking the next president of Jackson State University (JSU). AGB Search, a renowned firm specialising in academic leadership searches, has been hired to lead this national search. The process is expected to begin with listening sessions and culminate in semifinal and finalist interviews in early 2026.
AGB Search will collaborate with the IHL Board and JSU's search committee to identify top candidates. They will also facilitate listening sessions with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and partners to gather insights and ensure the new president aligns with JSU's values and vision.
The recruiting process is anticipated to take approximately eight weeks, during which AGB Search will focus on finding candidates who can effectively lead JSU into the future. To ensure a smooth transition, AGB Search has also recommended forming a transition team to support the incoming president.
AGB Search, known for its expertise in high-level academic leadership searches, was appointed by the IHL to find JSU's next president. With listening sessions scheduled and a thorough eight-week recruiting process underway, the search for JSU's new leader is well underway, with semifinal and finalist interviews expected in early 2026.
