Senior Christmas Celebration in Ingolstadt Attracts Over 700 Visitors
Over 700 residents gathered for Ingolstadt’s Senior Citizens’ Christmas celebration. The event took place in the festival hall of the city theatre, where guests enjoyed a festive programme and seasonal treats.
Lord Mayor Dr. Michael Kern opened the celebration with a warm welcome. In his speech, he highlighted the value of community and compassion during the holidays. He also encouraged attendees to think of those in need at this time of year.
The afternoon featured performances by local choirs and music students. Culinary students from Vocational School I served homemade cookies and stollen, adding to the festive atmosphere. Craft groups from the Bürgerhaus community centre sold handmade Christmas gifts as well. Silvia Leithner, director of the Bürgerhaus, thanked the many volunteers who helped organise the event. The city-run centre, which supports all age groups, played a key role in bringing the celebration together.
The event closed with the Lord Mayor wishing all seniors a peaceful Advent and a joyful Christmas. The celebration reinforced the city’s tradition of bringing generations together during the holiday season. Organisers and volunteers ensured the afternoon ran smoothly for all who attended.
