Serious Traffic Accident in Wedding Hospitalizes 82-Year-Old
Yesterday morning, a serious traffic accident occurred in Wedding. An 82-year-old man and his 75-year-old wife were crossing Luxembourg Street when they were hit by a car turning left from Amrum Street. The man was severely injured and hospitalized, while his wife sustained minor injuries.
The couple, both in their late seventies, were crossing with the pedestrian light in their favor. A 38-year-old driver, having a green light, was turning left into Luxembourg Street when the collision occurred. The man was thrown onto the car's hood and then fell onto the road, sustaining a severe head wound. His wife also suffered a head wound but was treated and released as an outpatient. The driver's name has not been disclosed. The investigation is being handled by the specialized traffic crimes unit of Police Directorate 1 (North).
