Seven apprehended in bold daylight border crossing near Nagliņas farm
Early Sunday morning, before 9 o'clock, an unusual scene unfolded near the farm 'Nagliņas'. A group of people brazenly crossed the border in broad daylight, leaving local residents astonished. The border crossers were spotted by the owner's father who swiftly alerted the border guards. Coincidentally, the guards were already in the midst of a search, having been aware of the illegal crossing. The operation was part of temporarily reinstated border checks, led by Federal Police (Bundespolizei) officers. These checks, conducted on federal roads and at border crossings like the Bundesstraße 9 and Freilassing, have seen an increase in illegal entries by Moroccans, Palestinians, and Somalis. The guards swiftly apprehended seven offenders, who were identified as nationals from Morocco, Palestine, and Somalia. The offenders were subsequently returned to Belarus. The incident serves as a reminder of the ongoing border control measures in place, ensuring the security and safety of the region.
