Seven Menden City Officials Fail to Disclose Affiliations Despite Law
The Corruption Prevention Act (KorruptionsbG) in North Rhine-Westphalia has been in effect since March 1, 2005. This law mandates public officials to disclose certain affiliations. However, seven members of Menden's city committees have not provided the required information. The reasons behind this non-compliance remain unknown.
From October 1, 2025, to October 29, 2025, completed questionnaires from Menden's city committee members will be available for public inspection at the city hall, room B 145, during specified opening hours. This transparency measure aims to ensure accountability and prevent corruption.
The individuals who have not complied with the disclosure requirements are Dennis Boecker, Tanay Gönül, Holger Hartnig, Dirk Huhn, Nils Karius, Markus Kisler, and Peter Köhler. Section 7 in conjunction with Section 1 of the KorruptionsbG necessitates such disclosures.
The public is encouraged to review the disclosed information during the specified period. The non-compliance of the seven members, despite the law's clear provisions, raises concerns that need to be addressed. Further investigation may be necessary to ensure full compliance with the Corruption Prevention Act.
