Shashi Tharoor slams Congress’s weak showing in Bihar election fallout
Senior Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has criticized his party's performance in the Bihar elections. Early polling trends indicate that the Congress party is leading on only about five seats out of the 61 it contested. Tharoor also questioned the leadership of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) in Bihar.
Tharoor accused the NDA government of offering benefits to women voters just before the Model Code of Conduct came into force, a practice he compared to similar incidents in Maharashtra. He suggested that all parties, including Congress and RJD, should analyze their performance in the Bihar elections. Notably, Tharoor was not invited to campaign in Bihar, indicating that he was not involved in the party's strategy. He also questioned the leadership of the INDIA alliance, stating that the Congress was not a senior partner in the NDA, which is the senior alliance in Bihar.
Tharoor's comments reflect the Congress party's disappointment with its performance in the Bihar elections. His accusations against the NDA government and his call for introspection among all parties suggest a need for strategic review and improvement in the upcoming elections.
