"She will leave a big void": This museum director is leaving Lake Constance for Munich
Barbara Reil is stepping down as director of Lindau’s City Museum after 16 years. She will also leave her position at the city’s cultural office. The move comes as she prepares for a new job in Munich.
Reil’s departure is driven by family reasons. Her husband already works in Munich, prompting the family’s relocation. They plan to move in the coming months.
Reil will remain at the Stadtmuseum Lindau for a short time before leaving. Her roles in both the museum and the cultural office will then be filled by new leadership.
The change marks the end of Reil’s long tenure in Lindau. Her new job in Munich will begin once the family completes their move. The city will now seek replacements for her positions.
