Sheridan County Commission Considers Repealing Property Tax Deferral Program Rules

Sheridan County Commission has voted to publish a Notice of Intent (NOI) to potentially repeal rules governing the Property Tax Deferral Program. Commissioner Nick Siddle clarified that no decision to repeal the program has been made yet.

The commission considered the NOI at their recent meeting. While no decision to repeal the program was made, they agreed to publish an intent to do so. This will initiate a public comment period and a possible public hearing before a final decision in December.

Dusty Bates, a local resident, expressed hope that the commission would maintain the program to benefit the public. He suggested that better advertising could increase its usage.
