Chaturvedi, who previously served as a member of the Indian National Congress, clarified her stance on the Taliban, stating that her views have not changed despite old tweets resurfacing. Chaturvedi stressed the need for India to maintain strategic engagement with 'Afghanistan' despite the Taliban's leadership. She also criticised the exclusion of women journalists from a press briefing due to Taliban beliefs.
