Smart Schools Marks 10th Anniversary With New €5,000 Special Award
Marking its 10th anniversary, the Smart Schools competition introduces a new Special Award for Smart School Projects. The 2026 theme, 'Resilience & Responsibility: Digital Media Literacy', encourages schools nationwide to foster a robust, responsible approach to digital media. The €5,000 prize, supported by Deutsche Telekom, will recognize an exceptional project in digital teaching, infrastructure, or teacher training.
The Smart Schools competition, recognizing leading digital schools in Germany, has seen 135 schools nationwide earn the Smart School title and regularly network. Both first-time applicants and existing network schools are eligible for the new Special Award. Schools must demonstrate excellence in digital teaching, infrastructure, and teacher training to qualify.
