Sochi, Gelendzhik, and Anapa See Record Tourism Bookings in Russia’s Resort Boom

The Russian resort towns of Sochi, Gelendzhik, and Anapa are witnessing a surge in tourism bookings. Sochi's growth stands at 8%, driven by high prices in its mountain cluster. Meanwhile, alternative destinations like Arkhyz and Dombai are gaining traction. Gelendzhik and Anapa are also strengthening their positions in popular resort rankings.

Sochi maintains its leadership in overall occupancy thanks to its vast hotel network. Its growth of 8% is primarily due to high prices in the mountain cluster. However, other destinations are catching up. Russian domestic tourists have significantly increased bookings in Anapa over the last two months, with sales growing faster than Gelendzhik's but still trailing Sochi's overall figures.

Gelendzhik's airport opening and infrastructure development have contributed to a 20% increase in bookings compared to last year. Anapa, too, is seeing rising demand, with reservations up by 15%. The growing interest in other domestic destinations within the region, such as the Mostovsky and Apsheronsk districts, is fueled by the popularity of thermal springs and affordable accommodation.

While Sochi continues to lead in overall occupancy, other Russian resort towns are experiencing significant growth in tourism bookings. Gelendzhik's and Anapa's improving infrastructure and rising demand indicate a competitive tourism landscape in the region.
